Disability in Science Fiction

From the Valve, a question about the appearance of disability in Science Fiction, leads to a generous response in the comments. Looks like a lot of books and short stories have just made it on to my "to read" list.

Some interesting stuff there. I'm more of a fan of cult TV than SF novels - and I have many examples of interesting representations, or metaphors, of disability in cult TV. I spend my life looking for them :)
