Sometimes I have something to say, and here is where I say it. Lots of talk about disability, Ehlers Danlos syndrome, general geekiness, family and friends, and whatever shiny captures my attention at the moment.

HI,
You left a comment on Autism Diva blog. I just wanted to say that I have a form of EDS (pretty much symptom free, not totally) and my child on the Autism Spectrum does, too. I have found lots of people with Asperger's/Autism who also have symptoms of EDS.
A friend got a researcher to look at one gene associated with EDS to see if it is also associated with autism, but apparently that one gene didn't turn out to link to autism, but EDS is caused by more than one gene, and I don't know which one the researcher looked at. I hear that they are going to publish the results but haven't yet.
I really think there is a connection between EDS and some forms of autism.
It makes perfect sense to me. I've seen in several austism blogs references to hypermobility, and autistic traits aren't exactly scarce among edsers.
I'd love to know more about whatever linkages have been found or suspected so far.
